Canal d’amour or Agapi beach is located in northern Corfu, in Sidari, at the western end of the northern coast of Corfu, at a distance of 32 km from the city.

Its peculiarity is the grooved, white sculpted clay rocks, which rise into the sea creating a unique channel, where the legend wants as many couples who swim to remain in love forever or those who manage and swim to the last edge to find her love of their lives.

But there are not a few, especially Europeans, who will prefer to cross it by swimming, to throw a coin at the bottom of the sea, wishing to meet true love.

"This is a unique place, similar to which there is another one in Crete. The visitors who come to the area are thousands every year, while last year we were visited by a famous world-class football player ", says among others the 34-year-old businessman Spyros Avlonitis in APE-MPE. "The Canal d'Amour has hosted many film crews and its scenes have been transferred all over the world," he will point out.

But apart from love and affection, the Canal d'Amour is now widely known for its detoxifying, beneficial, perhaps healing properties attributed to the large reserves of clay in the sea area, but also the unique clay rocks, which have been eroded by wind and salt and extend into the sea, creating small coves and beautiful caves.

There are many who sit on the sculpted rocks and with a piece of clay smear their body and hair doing a unique natural clay therapy.

The area is known from ancient Greece. In Sidari, excavations have found traces of a settlement of the Neolithic Age, while a settlement of the Mesolithic period was discovered, as well as pottery of the Neolithic period.

However, the Canal d'Amour is a living painting of incomparable beauty and has been one of the most popular destinations in Corfu since the 1960s. It is honored with the blue flag every year, while it is suitable for diving and various water sports.
